Willow bowl commission finished this afternoon.
The exterior surfaces of the bowl are sanded to 2500 grit, with the exception of the underneath of the end wings which are fluted for grip, the interior of the bowl retains the tool marks per the customers request, the bowl has received a couple of coats of pure beeswax and will get a couple more tomorrow to finish it off and then it will be off to the customer just in time for Christmas

Wow, what a beautiful thing.
ReplyDeleteI wish I was half as talented.
Thanks, not that difficult to do in all honesty, just time consuming
DeleteGorgeous bowl.
ReplyDeleteI like the Hazel sporks, I'm a big fan of Hazel, I make primitive bows from it, much more plentiful than Yew of course. Check out 'Delsbows' if you want to see my stuff.
You've given me some ideas for using offcuts from my bowmaking :)
Thanks for the kind comments, will pop over and have a look at your bows in a little while
DeleteA gorgeous bowl there Mark
ReplyDeleteThanks George, this was one of those ones that i really didn't want to part with, guess i will just have to make a better one at some point for myself.
